Tether, the world's largest U.S. dollar stable currency USDT issuer, issued an announcement on November 18, officially announcing its investment in the Bitcoin mortgage loan platform Ledn By making strategic investments, the two parties will jointly promote the financial model of "you can borrow money without selling coins", so that digital assets can truly enter the real financial infrastructure.

The crypto asset mortgage loan market will grow to US$60 billion

Ledn is a financial technology company focusing on Bitcoin mortgage loans, emphasizing safe custody and risk control. According to Tether, since its establishment, Ledn has issued more than US$2.8 billion in Bitcoin mortgage loans, which exceeded US$1 billion in a single year in 2025, setting a record high. Especially in the third quarter of this year, the amount of loans in a single quarter was as high as 392 million US dollars, almost equal to the total in the whole of 2024. Ledn's annualized recurring revenue (ARR) currently exceeds $100 million, demonstrating strong market demand for such products.

In addition, in choosing to invest in Ledn, Tether also quoted Data Intelo's latest report stating that the global crypto-asset mortgage market is expected to grow rapidly from approximately US$7.8 billion in 2024 to more than US$60 billion in 2033, with a very high compound annual growth rate. The main driving force for the growth of this field will come from the desire of more and more investors to flexibly obtain US dollar liquidity while holding Bitcoin, rather than selling assets at high points.

Creating real-world application scenarios for digital assets

Regarding this investment, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said: "This investment reflects Tether's deep belief that financial innovation should give people more power. We and Ledn Together, we are expanding access to credit without selling digital assets. This approach creates real-world application scenarios for digital assets and is conducive to solidifying the role of digital assets as a core pillar of a more inclusive global financial system." Adam Reeds, co-founder and CEO of Ledn, also emphasized: "This investment brings together two market leaders to jointly shape the future of the Bitcoin mortgage market. Judging from current estimates, Ledn's loan size is expected to be larger. The nearly three-fold growth in 2024 validates the correctness of our "All-in on Bitcoin" strategy. We expect that the market's demand for Bitcoin financial services will continue to surge, and our cooperation with Tether will ensure that Ledn remains at the forefront as the market continues to evolve and grow."
